The Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo will return to the International Centre in Toronto this November for its 15th edition. In cooperation with CWRE, the Canadian Waste Sector Symposium (CWSS) will produce the symposium program and facility tours beginning November 12.
The 2012 Canadian Waste Sector Symposium serves as a forum for the discussion of waste sector policy and technology, topics including Hazardous Waste Management, Organics Waste Management, Green Energy, Green Management of Waste, Waste Disposal and Transfer and more.
Presented by industry experts from companies such as Golder Associates, AECOM and Newalta, featured topics cover EPR Programs, Alternative Fuel Processes, Risk Assessments to Landfill Taxes, CNG Vehicles, Residential Waste Composition and more.
A special day of workshops will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012. There will be a morning and afternoon session, led by Gordon McGuinty, author of Trashed, a compelling behind the scenes look at EA approvals, hearings, politics and people. Attractive to management at any level, the morning session will be an interactive workshop focused on leadership and how to motivate people. The afternoon workshop covers the management of projects; from dealing with day to day politics to handling the media.
CWSS will coordinate a one day tour of leading waste disposal & recycling facilities in Toronto and the surrounding area that transfer, manage, process and dispose of a variety of materials from both the Residential stream and the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) sectors. Visiting more than 10 facilities, the tour will also cross the border into the United States.
