The Waste & Recycling Expo / Municipal Equipment Expo’s return to Toronto this October hit the mark with high praise from exhibitors and attendees alike. Held in downtown Toronto for the first time October 24 – 25 at the Enercare Centre, the 21st edition was a great success, hosting thousands of visitors from more than 15 countries and nearly 200 exhibitors from across Canada, the United States and abroad.
“The diverse list of attendees allows us to connect and network with both existing customers and new leads,” says John Greenway, Product Manager, Busch Systems. “It’s a must-attend event for the Waste and Recycling industry, and something we look forward to each year.”
Consistently expanding its global diversity, the Waste & Recycling Expo / Municipal Equipment Expo, featured companies from China, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands and the USA.
Networking opportunities abound
The 2018 show offered several occasions for exhibitors and attendees to connect on and off the show floor – from receptions to a swing at the puck inside The Rink. An additional opportunity on the night before the show opening, the Gala Reception, held at the Hockey Hall of Fame, was met with tremendous applause, celebrating a 20% increase in attendance.
Kudos for the educational program
The Canadian Waste to Resource Conference, a co-located event, produced by the Ontario Waste Management Association, experienced a noticeable increase in participation. The program covers a variety of engaging topics from green energy and organics to waste disposal and recycling.
As a part of the Canadian Waste to Resource Conference, the Ontario Minister of the Environment, Conservation & Parks, Rod Phillips, delivered the luncheon keynote address outlining his objectives for the Ministry and discussing the priorities of the Doug Ford Progressive Conservative government. Following his presentation, he also took the opportunity to visit several exhibits on the show floor, stopping to engage in a robust conversation about the diverse products highlighted at the event.
“We were very pleased that the Ontario Minister of Environment, Conservation & Parks, made the effort to explore the show floor and speak with some of the exhibitors. It was an effort that was well received and appreciated by all,” stated Arnie Gess, Show Manager, Waste & Recycling Expo Canada.
The Waste & Recycling Expo / Municipal Equipment Expo will return to the Enercare Centre in downtown Toronto, October 9 – 10, 2019. For more information on the upcoming event, visit www.cwre.ca.
