Recent closure of recycling contractor could be first of many

Jul. 10, 2019

The collapse of Beaumen Waste Management last month may be just the beginning.

Admaston Bromley’s Mayor says the Beaumen situation was a local consequence of a global crisis. The Mayor says two major recycling streams are no longer making money.

The closure of the company left a lot of recyclables sitting at the curb, as it served several municipalities in Renfrew County. Some of those have already made alternate arrangements. Donahue suspects that Beaumen could be on the leading edge of a wave that will see many other firms that depend on the existing Recycling Business Model at risk.
